Ludger Beerbaum wins in Valkenswaard

The four-time Olympic champion Ludger Beerbaum (GER) has continued the success story of the German rider at the Global Champions Tour (GCT). The 48-year-old sat down with Chaman through to the ninth ward of the most valuable show jumping series in the Netherlands Valkenswaard in the jump.

After the successes of Philipp Weishaupt in Estoril and Hans-Dieter Dreher in Chantilly, this was the third triumph of a German show jumper on the GCT in a row.

Beerbaum, who jumped clear in all three rounds landed, thanks to the improved time of 41.32 seconds in front of the American Richard Spooner with Cristallo (42.05) and Sweden's Rolf-Goran Bengtsson with Carusso LS La Silla (43.43 ). For the victory conceded the two-time world champion team prize money of 94,000 euros.

Even Marco Kutscher (GER) and Philipp Weishaupt (Riesenbeck), who had not participated as tree in the Olympic Games in London, jumped on the front seats. Coachman landed after a drop in the jump with Cornet Obolensky in fourth place. Weishaupt took with Catoki seventh.

In the overall standings, leads the Australian Edwina Tops-Alexander, who left in Valkenswaard in the first round, with 189 points, ahead of Christian Ahlmann (Marl/169 points), who finished with Taloubet Z after a drop in twelfth place.
